SCHWARZ – Roland Georg passed away peacefully in Penticton on Wednesday, December 5th at the age of 84. Roland was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Chloe in 2006. He is survived by his loving son Michael Schwarz (Laura), daughter Susan Fosbery (Pat), and grandchildren Robyn & Adam Schwarz, Cole & Brynn Fosbery. He is also survived by his sister Doris Hack (Marvin), partner Sandra Henson and many more extended family.
Roland grew up in Kaleden and was a long-time resident of Penticton. He worked over 40 years as a Printer/Type Setter for the Penticton Herald newspaper. He was a dedicated family man, and had a real passion for tennis and the many friends that he made through years of tournaments and recreational play. It was only a recent string of health challenges that prevented Roland from playing tennis right to the end. He enjoyed the outdoors and took great pleasure in photography – creating some wonderful photos of the beautiful Okanagan landscapes and documenting family events. In recent years he enjoyed traveling to sporting events. A funeral service will be held at the Everden Rust Funeral Chapel, 1130 Carmi Avenue, in Penticton on Thursday December 13th, 2018 at 11:00 AM. In memoriam donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
