Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at The Carpenter Hospice, Burlington, on Monday, December 3, 2018 shortly after her 70th birthday. Beloved wife of Ian for 49 years. Loving mother of Chris (Dawn), James (Sara) and Kathleen (Graham). Cherished Nana to Emma, the late Ethan, William, T.J., and Clara. Dear sister of Patrick (the late Dorothy). Marleen will also be missed by her nieces, nephews, many extended family and friends. Marleen will be most remembered for her strong love and passion for her family. She was a determined Mother who gave freely of her time and always looked out for her loved ones. It was this strong commitment to family and friends that created so many life long memories, friendships and traditions that will live on even after her passing. Marleen had several interests, from being involved in many facets of her children’s lives to running a Second Cup franchise where she made long lasting friendships. Her lifelong passion came from performing and dance. From an early age Marleen had a love of dance that she shared with her daughter Kathleen and Granddaughter Emma. She fondly remembers her time performing with the Clarkson Music theatre where she cultivated many special friendships that lasted right up until her final days. Marleen’s private cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Carpenter Hospice, Burlington would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
