Obituary of Francetta Bertin
In loving memory of Francetta (Roach) Bertin who passed away at 97 ½ years of age. Born June 22, 1921 in Petit Rocher, New Brunswick, moving to Port Colborne, Ontario in 1950.
She is predeceased by her husband Isidore “Izzy” John Bertin (Nov. 2000), her daughter Patricia (Tish) Molnar of Port Colborne, father Aurele Roach of Bathurst NB and mother Derilda (Boudreau) Roach of Bathurst NB. Predeceased by her brothers Arnold of Haute-Rive Que, Perly of Petit Rocher NB, Raymond of Port Colborne and Romeo of Sudbury and her sisters Dell (Pat) Doucet of Baie-Comeau PQ and Ernestine White of Bathurst NB.
She is survived by her children Susan (George) Racine, Jacqueline (Ken) Fleck, Nancy Bertin, Michael (Kelly) Bertin, Richard “Rick” (LiPing) Bertin, 10 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Fran was an avid Euchre player, cribbage player, a composer, and a singer of songs and teller of stories. She was a member of the Friendly Seniors Club and enjoyed her years in St Charles Village, participating in many of their events. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
The Bertin family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018 at St. Therese of Lisieux Roman Catholic Church (379 Fares Street, Port Colborne) with Father Michael Andrysiak as celebrant. Rite of Committal to follow at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery.
