It is with great sadness we must tell of Terry’s passing on November 24th, 2018 at the age of sixty-five after a spirited and courageous war against cancer. During this time she showed a seldom seen resilience in fighting her many illnesses and won many battles during her thirteen year struggle. She can now rest peacefully without any further pain or worry.
Terry was born in Daysland and lived her early life in Spring Lake. She moved to the big city with her family where she firstly became a legal secretary and met her husband and then for many years worked as the “boss” of Shamrock Flooring.
Terry was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother (“Gigi”) and sister possessed an infectious sense of humor and a smile that warmed everyone. She was the compass for her family and had a sense of style, dignity and kindness that anyone who met her or knew her enjoyed. She loved to laugh, joke and tease. She was also blessed with an intuitive sense of propriety that made everyone around her a better person.
She leaves a large void in the lives of her husband, John (her “Sweetheart”); daughter, Carolyn (Tasker Goodchild) (her “Dolly”); and son, Donald (her “Buddy”); and her two grandchildren, Poppy and Crawford. She will also be desperately missed by her sisters, Colleen (Larry), Diane (Fred) and Trudy (Randy) (“Trutes”); as well as her brother, Paddy Wolbeck. Terry was predeceased by her brothers, Ronnie, Billy and Bobby; and niece Debbie, as well as her parents, John and Orpha Wolbeck.
We would be remiss if we did not mention the compassionate care of the nurses and staff in Unit 53 of the Grey Nuns. We learned nursing is a very difficult profession.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Derrick Golf and Winter Club, 3400-119 Street, Edmonton on December 7, 2018 between 1:00 and 4:30.
She liked men in jeans and a sport-coat and her favorite dress color was red. That’s what we will be wearing.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Theresa Coulter Maiden Wolbeck of Edmonton
