Marion Lorraine Hogg (Lowery, Mackintosh)
February 17, 1937 – November 26, 2018
HOGG, (Lowery, Mackintosh), Marion Lorraine – age 81, passed away at home in Halifax on November 26, 2018. Born February 17, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Lt. Cdr. (E) Ret’d James Francis Mackintosh and Marion Edna (Hirtle) Mackintosh.
Left to mourn are her son Patrick (Connie)Lowery, sisters Kay Collacutt, Trudy Mackintosh, Pat (Alec) MacInnis, Mary Morrison, Brenda (Fraser) Munro and brothers Russell (Patsy), Frank (Marilyn), Bruce (Neta), Dave, Bob, Mike and Gage (Eileen) Mackintosh. She is also survived by granddaughter Violet (Steve) Wentzell and grandson Phillip(Brandi) Lowery and by her pride and joy her great-granddaughters Sophia , Felicity and Savannah. She will be sadly missed by her many nephews and nieces and friends.
She had a lifetime membership to the Fleet Club in Halifax and for 13 years was the president of the Ladies’ Dart League at Stadacona Mess.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was kind hearted and very generous, especially to those in need throughout the years.
She was predeceased by her first husband Philip Lowery and second husband Lloyd Hogg.
Special thanks to her very dear friend, Rosemary Haley, for always being there.
A mass celebrating Lorraine’s life will take place Friday, November 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Maple Street , Dartmouth, Father James Richards officiating. Private burial at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Halifax and Region Military Family Resource Centre or a charity of your choice.
