It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marilyn Morrow after a prolonged battle with cancer on October 26, 2018. She is now in a better place with the lord.
Marilyn is survived by her sister, Kay (Gary); niece, Carrie (Bryan) and nephews: Darren, and Trevor (Srilanka); along with many great nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Gilbert and Florence Morrow; and her sister, Evelyn Okamura (Ken).
Marilyn was a graduate of the St. Michael’s School of Nursing in Lethbridge, Alberta. She worked as a unit manager/charge nurse of the Grey Nun’s – pediatrics unit, Edmonton General Hospital – acute care unit, and Sherwood Park-nursery. As a registered nurse she was a lifelong learner who worked by the principles of compassion for others, critical inquiry and the promotion of health and well-being. She practiced her profession with honesty, integrity and respect for others.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Foyer Lacombe Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion of Marilyn over her final months. A special thanks, as well, to her many close friends who helped her through this.
