Obituary of Robert Johnston
Peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Thursday morning, October 25th, 2018. Robert Edgar Johnston, of R.R. #2, Kemble, at the age of 92 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Audrey Johnston (nee Small). Loving father of Heather Johnston, of Mississauga and Rob Johnston, of Kemble. Proud grandfather of Gwyneth Johnston-Swain. Dear brother of Mary-Lou Turcotte (Art), of Sarnia. Bob will be missed by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Johnston; his siblings, Ruth Hillier (George) and William Johnston (Winnifred). Bob was recognized by President Francoise Hollande and the Government of France and awarded the rank of Knight of the French National Order of the Legion of Honour.
A Memorial Service for Bob Johnston will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, 1049 – 4th Avenue East, Owen Sound on Friday, November 2nd, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Graham Bland officiating. Visitation will be held at the Church from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6, Owen Sound will hold a Memorial Service at the Church at 10:45 a.m. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the St. George’s Anglican Church Accessibility Fund as an expression of sympathy and may be made through the BRIAN E.
