Harikirpal Singh Dulat
Harikirpal Singh Dulat passed away peacefully on October 22, 2018 at 88 years old. Known to more than 50 years of students and faculty at Red River Community College and the University of Manitoba, Professor Dulat was always greeted by his former students and recognized by Winnipeggers in all sectors of business, commerce, and community involvement. He grew up in Dehra Dun, India and held degrees in philosophy, law, and English literature. He then earned an MBA from the University of Oregon and taught business administration at University of Alberta before settling in Winnipeg. In spite of not enjoying the spotlight, he was active in the community and one of the founders of the Sikh Society of Manitoba in the early 1970s. He was an awesome father and grandfather, sharing his love of humour, history, literature and world affairs. An encyclopedic scholar and true gentleman, he had the gift of treating everyone with dignity. An honorable life well lived.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 27th, 10:00 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue and Sikh Services will be held at Sikh Society of Manitoba Gurdwara, 1244 Mollard Rd, Winnipeg at 1:00 pm.
