Helen O. Mahon
1929-2018
The death of Helen Oressa Mahon of Rothesay, NB, beloved wife
of the late Robb Mahon, occurred on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at
Bobby’s Hospice, Saint John, NB. Born on July 22,
1929 in Upper Stewiacke, NS, she was the daughter of the late Roy and
Gertrude (McCabe) Patterson.
Prior to her retirement, Helen had a long working career as a
nurse throughout various cities. Helen had a love of life,
nature and animals. Her home always was surrounded by all
types of critters which she cared for. Helen especially had
a special place in her heart for cats which brought her great
joy. In her quiet way, she touched many hearts, always
caring for and bringing happiness to everyone she knew.
Helen will be greatly missed by her son, Murray Mahon of
Rothesay, NB; sister-in-law, Marguerite Patterson of Fredericton, NB;
nephew, David Patterson; nieces, Judy Miller and Ellen Fisher; as well
as her precious feline companions, Willow and Sam. In
addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her
brothers, Muir Patterson (Nina) and Walter Patterson.
In keeping with Helen’s wishes, there will be no
visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will take
place in Riverside Cemetery, Upper Stewiacke, NS at a later
date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of
Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111
