Mary Abraham (Joiner)
Abraham, Mary Ethel [Joiner] – Mary Abraham passed away Tuesday, October 16, at the age of 88 at the Temiskaming Hospital.
She was born in Chamberlain Township on September 10, 1930, to Ethel and Harry Joiner. She married Norman Abraham in 1951.
Mary was a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church and was an active volunteer at the Haileybury Heritage Museum, Temiskaming Art Gallery, Cobalt-Haileybury Curling Club, Meals on Wheels, Up With People, the Temiskaming Hospital Cancer Care Unit and the Haileybury 54’s hockey team.
She was predeceased by her husband Norman in 1995 and daughter Sandra in 1977. She is survived by her daughter Mary (husband Gilles Tessier) of Sudbury, son Michael (wife Kimberley) of Haileybury, son David (wife Pauline) of Ottawa, son Alan (wife Pat) of Ottawa. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Ethel and Harry Joiner, brothers Harry (Jean predeceased), Jim (Mabel), Norman (Pat predeceased) and survived by brother Ted (Louise).
Visitation is at Buffam Leveille Funeral Home in Haileybury on Monday, October 22, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service is Tuesday, October 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s and St. John’s Anglican Church in Haileybury. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Haileybury.
