John Earl Silver (AKA:The King)
Son of the late John Thomas and Perdita (Knowles) Silver, Johnny was raised in Cow Bay. On Monday October 15th 2018, two days before his birthday, Johnny passed away, peacefully at home, after a lengthy hard fought battle with cancer.
John is survived by partner Darlene Carter and his beloved dog Bear Bear, by sons, John “Bubber” (Rhonda), Frankie (Michelle), Trevor (Emily) and Jestin (Courtney). Grandchildren, Ashley, Carleigh, Alicia, Matthew, Lily, Gage, Paul, Mykenzie, Madysen. Great Grandchildren, Cameron, Jayce, Cameron Jack, Shaya, Kara. Brothers, Jerry, Frank (Shirley), Jimmy (Kay), and too many nieces and nephews to name. Besides his parents he was predeceased by great granddaughter Aaliyah, Brothers, Thomas, Sister, Dora, Half brothers, Brenton, Lawrence, Russell, Half sisters, Jean, Pearl, Hazel, Jessie, Frances.
Johnnys passion during his life, involved anything outdoors as shown by his career as a lobster fisherman and his joy in hunting. A very outgoing person , he knew many and had a story for everyone. Always available to help, he will be missed. He will be especially missed by all the regulars at the Cow Bay Rd Tim Hortons where he enjoyed many a cup of tea and at the Crick.
The family would like to extend their very heartfelt thanks to Dr. Van Zoost and the Pallitive Care Team at the QEII Hospital.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday October 20th from 2-4pm at Eastern Passage Community Funeral Home. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Association or one of your choice.
