Obituary for
Maria Ruscitti
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving mother Maria Donata Ruscitti (De Santis) at the age of 88. She passed away peacefully on October 9, 2018 in Coquitlam, British Columbia, with her devoted children by her side. Maria Donata was born on October 13, 1929 in Cansano, Aquila, Italy.
She was mamma to three children, nonna to three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters and zia to many nieces and nephews.
Maria Donata was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years Giovanni; son-in-law Vincenzo Figliuzzi; brother Salvatore De Santis; and sister Antonia Buono.
She is survived by her brother Domenico De Santis; sister-in-law Annina De Santis (Carusi); children Romolo, Giovanna and Sandra (Rafaello); granddaughter Immacolata (Bruno); grandsons Nicola (Mary) and Salvatore; and great-granddaughters Gianna and Adriana.
Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Bell and Burnaby Funeral Chapel at 4276 Hastings St., Burnaby, B.C.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, October 19, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2025 Napier Street, Vancouver, B.C., Entombment to follow at Ocean View Mausoleum, 4000 Imperial Street, Vancouver, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
