Barbara Jean Whelan
March 3, 1930 – October 9, 2018
WHELAN, Barbara Jean (nee Hoop) – Passed away, peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on October 9, 2018 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Gerald Arthur Whelan. Cherished mother of Mary Lynn Rutherford (Kelly), Mark Whelan (Anne Marie), Ann Whelan, Sylvia Whelan, Michael Whelan (Vicki) and the late David Whelan and Theresa Henderson (Hazen). Proud grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with 3 more on the way. Thanks to Dr. Beamish, Dr. Hartleib and Dr. Richard and his staff for their care and attention to our mom. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at COMSTOCK-KAYE LIFE CELEBRATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Martin’s Church, 513 Ennis Road, Ennismore. Memorial donations to St. Martin’s CWL or Brock Mission would be appreciated.
