Sheena Catherine Jane Duff Patterson
Sheena Catherine Jean Duff Patterson passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on October 5, 2018 in her 103rd year at The Meadows Long Term Care in Ancaster. She managed to outlive all those who thought she would not enjoy a long life, instead, she was happy and loving to the end, always spreading her love and joy to others in word and in song.
Mom will always be remembered by her son, Robert (Meredith) and her daughter Janice (Brian) Duncan as well as her grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer) Patterson, Andrew Patterson, and Tom (Lorna) Duncan; and her great grandchildren, Robyn and Erin Patterson, Nathan and Sarah Duncan. Sheena was predeceased by her dear husband, William (Bill – 1999) who she faithfully cared for through ten years of illness; her parents, Robert and Elizabeth; her brother, Ian; and her sister, Elizabeth.
A big special “thank you” goes to the staff of Highgate Retirement Residence, Ancaster and The Meadows Long Term Care Residence, Ancaster for over 12 years of tender, loving care. In case you didn’t know – she loved every one of you and you will always remain her “sweethearts”.
Known for her gentle spirit, her kindness, her African Violets, her knitting, her crocheting, her quilting, her needlepoint, her rug hooking, and her baking, especially her pies, Sheena holds a special place in many hearts. She was always a dedicated member and worker in her church, Lynden United and Ryerson United in Ancaster.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Ryerson United Church, 265 Wilson Street East, Ancaster with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Following the reception, interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Donations in Sheena’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
