William
MacLeod
Juniper
Mountain
It is with broken hearts and beautiful memories that we
announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, William
« Billy » MacLeod on October 5, 2018, at home, surrounded by
his family.
Born July 5, 1932, in Framboise, he was the son of the late
John Allan and Mary Anne (MacLeod) MacLeod.
Billy is survived by his son, Richard (Debbie), Juniper
Mountain; granddaughters, Breanna (Brett) Smith, Enfield and Maggie
MacLeod, Juniper Mountain; sisters, Peggy Mason, Dartmouth, Danelda
Brown, Sydney, Donelda (Earl) Drysdale, Mira Rd., Mary (Sonny)
Blackmore, Glace Bay and Marina (Ron) Seifried, Ontario; brothers,
Angus (Alice), Marion Bridge, John James (Reene), Framboise, as well
as his brother-in-law, Earl MacPherson.
He was predeceased by his wife of over 60 years, Christene
(MacDonald); sisters Effie (Lester) MacLeod, Evelyn (Peter) MacLeod,
Christie (John) Holmes and Annie MacPherson.
Billy loved many things in life, including fiddle music,
fixing things and dogs. But the real loves of his life were family. He
was an amazing father and cherished grandfather. He made the best
bacon and eggs to be found and could always be counted on to share a
baked potato with his granddaughter, Maggie. He always made sure
Breanna’s car was in top shape for her return trips to the mainland.
Words cannot express how much he will be missed.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on
Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Fourchu United
Church on Wednesday, October 10 at 11 a.m. Rev. Dana Feltmate
officiating. Interment in St. Andrew’s Cemetery,
Framboise.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr.
Greg Myatt, who was wonderful with Billy.
Memorials may be made to Palliative Care at the Cape Breton
Regional Hospital or the Patient Care Fund.
