It is with great sadness that our family announce the passing of George Bramsleven.
He passed away peacefully August 5th, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.
George and his wife immigrated from the Netherlands to Canada March 1957. They travelled from Halifax to Vancouver by train and settled in Burnaby where George was employed as a printer. In 1961 George moved his family to Smithers where George worked for “The Interior News”. He worked as a printer and also did advertising sales for many years with the newspaper.
George later began a new career in car sales with “O’Neill Chev Olds”. When George retired from sales, he was active with many entrepeneurships and odd jobs.
Life was a gift George never took for granted. He loved to play music, karaoke, fishing, skiing and most of all “Telling the story” and that he always had one to share. He lived his life as Frank Sinatra would sing “I did it my way”.
George is survived by all his children, Patty (Robert), Walter (Anna), Joe (Tammy), Neil (Lynn), Eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, mother of his children (Doris), brother (Cees) and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A special thank you to the Bulkley Lodge for making George comfortable during his final weeks, and to Dr. Fred Strauss that supported not just George but our family as well through George’s battle.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de George Elias Bramsleven January 28 1934 August 5 2018 (age 84)..
