“Poppy with the puppies” you could say, was a Jack-of-all-trades, being the neighbourhood grandfather as well as, rescuing many a stray. Poppy was there to help fix bike chains, skateboards, mow a lawn, and help with minor repairs. He also loved Yahtzee, inventing and making a Yahtzee board so the dice weren’t so loud.
George will be missed by many, along with his cousin and lifelong friend: Catherine “Millie” MacLeod, his daughter: Donna (Guy) Eastabrook, his son: Rocky William (Donna) Yeates, his “special” family: Tom MacLeod, Karen (Hal) MacLeod-Wambolt, Paul (Darlene) Macleod, his grandchildren: Haley (Nicole), Jaimee, Michael, Evan, Teela, Samantha, Charlie and Mason, great-granddaughter: Sierra, and many nieces and nephews.
George, the last surviving member of his family was predeceased by his wife: Ruby (Rose) Yeates-Harnish, Mother and Father: Margaret & Raymond, Brothers: Joseph and Herbert, his Sister: Margaret “Peggy” Eisnor, Half-brothers: Charlie, Willie and Buddy Beamish.
As per Georges request there will be no visitation, there will be a graveside interment, October 12, 2018 at 11:30 Oakridge Memorial Gardens, 1078 Old Sackville Road.
