Verna Bernice Tanghe
August 2, 1928 – September 16, 2018
Verna Bernice Tanghe, age 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday September 16, 2018 at her home at Points West, an assisted living facility, in Slave Lake, Alberta. She was the widower of Reginald Tanghe.
They had shared 45 years of marriage together.
Verna was born on August 2, 1928 in Glenora, Manitoba to Philip and Goldie Mae Cuthbert.
The family moved to Alberta when Verna was 9 months old, settling north of High Prairie where she attended school.
Verna met and married Reg Tanghe in 1946.
They settled on the family farm north of Kinuso.

Verna’s days were filled with raising her family, gardening and working on the farm.
After Reg passed, Verna moved into Slave Lake where she lived independently until 2016.
Verna was a very family orientated person.
She loved the visits with her children and grandchildren.
Her family were her life.
Verna is survived by her 3 children: John (Karen) Tanghe, Brenda (Steve) Baron, Annette (Jim) Thomas, grandchildren – David, Wade and Robert Larocque, Jody (Jeff) Schmidt, Crystal (Ryan) Roe, Cory (Coralee) Tanghe, Marie, Mandi, and Kristi Baron, Andy (Shelley) Edwards, Robin (Monica) Edwards, Logan (Courtney) Thomas, Jenna (Jeremy) Tanghe, Joel Tanghe, Kassie Tanghe, Alexis (Doug) Wilgenbusch, Erin Wilgenbusch and
Rachel and Sophie Wilgenbush.
Great grand children Austyn and Addison Schmidt, Tielle and Koby Roe, Michael, Cayden and Hayley Tanghe, Summer and Tyler Edwards, Peyton Tanghe, Wade and Jase Brazeau, Lincoln Girard
Verna was predeceased by her husband Reginald, daughters June Tanghe, Marion Tanghe (Wilgenbusch) and Virginia Larocque, her parents and 9 siblings.
A graveside service will be held for Verna at the Swan Valley Cemetery in Kinuso at 1:00 pm on Friday September 21, 2018. Luncheon to follow at the Kinuso Senior Center.
