Phyllis Ruth Hack (1937 – 2018): It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Hack (née Bucknall) on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018 at the Kirkland & District Hospital. Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Kirkland Lake who worked at the Kirkland & District Hospital for 32 years before retiring in 1992. Phyllis was an active member of the community as member of the Encore Club, the Royal Canadian Legion and a member of the Trinity United Church since 1950, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Phyllis was always keeping busy and enjoyed golfing, wood working, curling, fishing, and winter outdoor sports. She knit many sweaters and sewed many quilts for her grandchildren.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents Agnes Goodman (McRae) and Ervin (Fred) Bucknall, stepfather Harry Goodman, sister Shirley I. Nicholls, brother in law Walter Nicholls and sons Ervin Fredrick Hack and Wayne Delbert Hack. She is survived by her son Darwin R. Hack (Kathy) and her granddaughters Ceryena, Jennifer (Dan), Kayla, Shana, Brooklyn (Erick) and her great grandchildren Alisa, Jordan, Jaden, Emerald and Lennox as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by her family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
