Obituary of Charles Moran
Charles (Chuck) Ervin Moran
November 26, 1944 – September 9, 2018
Chuck Moran of Camrose, Alberta, formerly of Highland Creek, Ontario, passed away suddenly of natural causes at his home at the age of 73 years.
He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and never forgotten by his son Kelly (Karen) Moran and their daughters Ashtyn and Coryl; son Grady Moran (Amanda White) and her children Layne and Shalyn.
Chuck grew up in Highland Creek before leaving home to work on the road across the US and eventually to the Bahamas doing sheet metal work. He was formally trained as a telephone technician and worked across Canada, moving west to Alberta with AGT and settling in Calgary where he married and started a family. The family moved to Camrose where the kids were raised and Chuck shared his love of the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and camping with his boys. He was very involved in coaching the boys hockey and fastball teams where he made life-long friends. In later years, Chuck reconnected with childhood friends and made many new ones while pursuing his love for travel on his motorbike throughout Canada and the US. The thing that brought Chuck the most joy was spending time with his sons and their families, and the deep love he had for his two granddaughters.
Those who knew Chuck didn’t have to guess what he thought or meant. He was always up for a game of cards, time around the campfire with friends for a drink to tell tall tales with a “Chuck” twist, and if you ever needed a laugh with some sharp wit, he wouldn’t disappoint!
Chuck was predeceased by his father Charles Cecil Moran, mother Viva Maude Tanner, brother Gregory Brian Moran, and daughter Holly Erin Moran. Aside from his sons and their families, he is survived by the mother of his children Valerie Anne Warnock.
A private ceremony for immediate family will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
