Jack Francis Bellamy
1943-2018
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jack
Francis Bellamy of Hampton, N.B. Jack passed away after a
courageous battle with cancer at the Saint John Regional Hospital on
September 10th, 2018 surrounded by his family. Jack was born
in Thunder Bay, Ontario on July 12th,
1943.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 53 years
Doreen (Warren) Bellamy. His daughter Sherri Bellamy
(Ottawa) and her four children: Mitchell, Haley, Olivia and Conrad
Grimmer. His son Bryan (Stephanie) Bellamy of Hampton and
their four children: Jaxon, Evan, Carter and Reid. His 4 sisters:
Dorothy Wakowich, Margaret (John) Silvey, Lorraine Vaccher, Shirley
Ann (George) Davis of Thunder Bay, Ontario as well as many nieces and
nephews. He is pre-deceased by his parents Gladys (Merritt)
and Frank Bellamy and brother-in-law, Norman
Vaccher.
Jack was a devoted husband, father, friend and Poppy to his
eight adoring grandchildren. He was a man with a « heart
of gold » who was easy to love. Jack will be remembered
by his friends and family for his kindness, quiet strength, love and
generosity. He was a man of few words and yet he always had a ‘one
liner’ to add some dry humour in a serious situation. He
loved a good cup of tea, a game of crib and caring for his humming
birds.
Jack loved the outdoors. Growing up he enjoyed spending time
in the woods in Ontario. Hunting and fishing became his life-long
passion. He especially enjoyed having a good feed of
« Walleye ». He was always ready to lend a helping
hand and was appropriately named Jack as he was a « Jack of all
Trades ». His career as a journeyman welder
for forty years saw him building the Toronto Go Trains, working at
Point Lepreau, Irving Paper and CFM just to name a few.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral
Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. At
Jack’s request there will not be any visitation or
funeral.
