Obituary for
Elton George
Elton George, known by his loved ones as “Sonny”, was born in Barataria, Trinidad W.I. on October 16, 1932 to parents Frank and Julie George. He was the second of four children. He was raised and lived in Laventille, Trinidad W.I. until he immigrated to Canada in 1970, first settling in Toronto and then moving to Edmonton in 1977. His life in Canada centered around his family, his friends and his church. Elton was a loyal Seventh Day Adventist whose last church home was the West Edmonton Seventh Day Adventist Church at 9949-149t Street. Elton passed away on September 1, 2018 with his loving wife at his bedside. Elton was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Julie George; his daughter, Sharon; and his sister Pearl. He is survived by his wife, Dorothey; former wife and mother of his children, Yvette; his son, Ronald; his grandchildren, Jenny and Alex; his sisters, Eileen and Sheila; his nieces, Susan and Nicole; and a host of friends. He will always be remembered for being a student of the Bible and for sharing God’s word with loved ones. We part with Elton for now until we meet again in heaven.
