Obituary of George Makinson
Peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Thursday morning, August 30th, 2018. George Joseph Makinson, of Owen Sound, at the age of 78 years. Dearly loved husband of Juanita Makinson (nee Oliver). Loving father of Eric Makinson, of Owen Sound, Georgianne McAndrews (Michael), of St. Catharines and step-father of Jeffery Oliver, of British Columbia. Proud grandfather of 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of John Makinson, of Thorold, Carol Dunseith (Richard), of St. Catharines, Mary Lou Austen (Bill), of Stratford and Grace Clarke, of Kitchener. Predeceased by his parents, George and Violet Makinson; his sister, Heather Thompson (Danny); his brother-in-law, Jim Clarke.
Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Tuesday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. A Funeral Service for George Makinson will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 5th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Keith Sweeting officiating.
