Rhonda was born in Winnipeg Manitoba April 10, 1956. She was raised in Glenboro by loving parents Jack and Dorothy Thompson. She attended school in Glenboro, and later at ACC in Brandon, earning her licence in Cosmetology and Hair Dressing.
She had her own hairdressing business in Holland for a number of years while living at Treherne. In 1980, Courtney was born, and her and Courtney moved back to Glenboro in 1983. Rhonda later worked at the Glenboro Health Centre for a number of years in the housekeeping department and as a nurse’s aide, she loved working with the residents there and had a kind and caring way with them.
In 1999 she married Wayne McPhail of Glenboro and retired from the Glenboro Health Centre shortly after to help Wayne on the farm. She had a true passion for farming, growing up on a farm herself. She loved the cattle, gardening and harvest season and could be found working right along side with Wayne through the years. She loved delivering meals to the field and visiting with the family and Grandchildren while enjoying a special dinner she had prepared to enjoy on the tailgate of a truck.
Rhonda and Wayne loved to travel and their adventures took them all over the world exploring. They travelled throughout Canada from the East coast to the West coast meeting with friends and family along the way. They travelled all over the United States including Las Vegas, Hawaii and even taking an Alaskan Cruise seeing many great attractions along the way. Winter vacations in the Caribbean were also a favorite of theirs, always making memories with friends and family by their side.
Rhonda’s most treasured possession was her Grandchildren. She loved watching the grandchildren grow into themselves. She enjoyed attending Christmas Concerts, Swimming Lessons and Hockey and Baseball Games. If the grandchildren had activities going on, she didn’t want to miss them! She loved making memories with the kids and looked forward to the annual summer trip to Tinker-Town and the Zoo. She was always known to have a special treat for the kids when they were over for a visit. Each one of them was so special to her.
