Leard, Kathleen Mary Margaret (nee Nelson)
Peacefully at Stillwater Creek Retirement Residence, Ottawa on Friday, August 24, 2018 at the age of 92. Loving wife of “Art” Leard (deceased) and Peter Zacharias (deceased) and cherished mother of Janice Pound (Norman), Lindsay Zacharias (Geraldine) and Patricia Zacharias (Leo Waisberg). Beloved daughter of the late Henry and Isobel Nelson (nee Brownie) She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Ann Embro-Pantalony and Patricia Cooney and granddaughter, Ursula Hettinga. She will be missed by her grandchildren: Michael, Christa, Kathleen, Joseph, Peter and Hannah as well as great-grandchildren: Haylee, Mikayla, Ashleigh, Kaleigh, Spencer and Theron. Kathleen was a successful businesswoman , entrepreneur and avid bridge player. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star since 1951.
The family wishes to thank Drs. Wendy Hamilton and Paul Hacker for their compassionate care of Mom, as well as the exceptional staff at her Stillwater residence whose empathy and skill made Mom’s stay comfortable until her passing.

on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow. Interment of her ashes will be at the Queen’s Park Mausoleum in Calgary.
