Obituary of Paul Houtmeyers
It is with deep sadness that Paul’s family announces his sudden passing, at home in Burlington, in his 57th year. Dearly loved son of Marg Osterbrook of Chatham. Predeceased by his father, Peter Houtmeyers (2008). Cherished brother of Michelle Houtmeyers (Kevin McKim) of Chatham, Kim Houtmeyers (Tim Sadai) of Binbrook, and Wendy Houtmeyers (Alex Hope) of Burlington. Paul will also be missed by several nieces and nephews – Sam, Hannah, and Patrick Wilcox of Chatham; Madeline, Luke, Cole, and Alexandra Sadai of Binbrook; and Tea, Jackson, and Eli Hope of Burlington. Paul will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humour, generosity, and the love of adventure that led him to seek out thrills that we dared not accompany him on. He devoted his life to caring for others, and was about to begin retirement years that would have allowed him to spend time caring for himself and seeking out his next adventure. If you wish to make a donation in Paul’s name, Compassion Canada would be a meaningful choice to the family and reflect Paul’s dedication to the compassionate care of others. Visitation will be held at DENNING’S OF CHATHAM (519-352-2390), 4 Victoria Avenue, on Sunday, August 26th, 2018 from 2pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 3pm, with Rev. Dr. Margaret Moriyama officiating. Private interment to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Online condolences may be left at www.chathamfuneralhome.com.
Goodbye hurts the most when the story was not finished.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Paul
Walter
