It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful mother Phyllis Eleanor Brawner (Chadwick) in the early morning of August 17, 2018 in Ladysmith BC.
She was predeceased by her parents William and Mildred Chadwick, her husband Vernon C Brawner, her siblings Mildred (Sis) Palmer, Jim, George, Murray, Mervin, Harvey & Gloria Chadwick, her granddaughter Corinne Willett and her daughter in law Heather Brawner.
She is survived by her children Ian Thompson, Sheila Piotrowicz, Randy Brawner, Cheryl Dupont(Guy) & Bradley Brawner, her grandchildren Jerry Thompson (Crystal), Ashley, Natalie (Todd), Kristie Piotrowicz, Ross, Cole, Mitchell, Reid Brawner, Cody, Wade, Holly Dupont, Luke (Victoria), Eleanor Brawner, her great grandchildren, Scott, Kayla, Jake, Baily, Calvin and her great great grandchild Jayce, her siblings Joan Robertson, Stuart Chadwick (Maryanne), Faye Kerr (Ranon), Melva Grant (Brian).
She was also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
Mom was born in Central Butte Saskatchewan on July 14, 1924. She was the 3rd born of 12 children and always felt so blessed to be part of a large family. They created many memories and much laughter for one another through their years together.
Mom started her career as a waitress for the RCAF and soon found herself in Fort St John working for the local airline. She then moved to the island where she married and started her family where she found her greatest joy. She was an amazing mother who always put her children first. We always knew where to go for words of wisdom or a soft place to fall. Her family was complete when her eldest son Ian and his family found their mother and grandmother and her heart was now full. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and they thought that she would be here for them forever. She was so proud of her very large family and all the time that she got to spend with her numerous niece and nephews at the family farm and at her home in Victoria. She loved them greatly and they loved her right back.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thank you to all the staff on the 4th floor at the Lodge on 4th. There just aren’t words to say how we feel about you all. You helped her to maintain her dignity to the very end. To her amazing Doctor, Dr Lisinski. You were so much more to her than just her physician. Thank you for the incredible care you gave her through the years.
Feel free to wear something pink in her honour as it was her favorite colour.
