William (Billy) Ray Harris
1952-2018
William (Billy) R. Harris of Harvey, NB passed away on August 13, 2018
at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Billy was born on July 24, 1952 at
Harvey Station, NB, a son of Arthur Harris and the late Alice (Toner)
Harris.
Billy was a carpenter and avid hunter all his life. He was an active
member of the Harvey Lions Club for 35 years and volunteered at the
Harvey Rec Centre. Billy coached his children’s baseball and
hockey teams. He was one of the biggest Toronto Maple Leaf’s
fan but mostly his grandchildren were the apples of his eye.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Debbie (Jones) Harris; three
sons, Terry (Shelly), Doug (Letishia) and Kenny (Sherry); his father,
Arthur Harris; nine grandchildren, Natalie, Haley (Brad), Ryan,
Bradshaw (Allie), Christopher (Emily), Allison, Owen, Jorja and
Emmett; one great granddaughter, Gracie; two sisters, Margaret Nason
and Sylvia Morehouse; three brothers, Burton, Alex (Dorothy) and Dwane
(Rhonda); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Doug (Tammy), Annie
(Randy), Joyce (Lawrence), Brenda (Hank), Fred (Barb), Karen; several
aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother Alice, he was predeceased by his
parents-in-law, Bert and Alta Jones; two sisters-in-law, Margaret
Toner and Linda Jones; three brothers-in-law, Francis Nason, Stephen
Morehouse and Ronnie Jones.
Visitation will be held at Harvey Lions Club, 4722 Route 3, Harvey, NB
on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Lions Club Tribute Service will be
held at 6 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018
at 2 pm at the Harvey Lions Club with Rev. Kay Clowater officiating.
Interment at Acton Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Billy, the family
has suggested the Harvey Lions Club, the Acton Cemetery or a charity
of the donor’s choice.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the members
of the community, including Dr. D. Fletcher and his staff, and the
palliative care unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, especially
Dr. B. Sainz.
