SPICER (Bent) Shirley Arleen – Age 70, of Kingston, formerly of Harbourville, Kings Co., passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 9, 2018, in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on February 27, 1948, in Berwick, Kings Co., she was the oldest daughter of the late Reginald W. and Lorraine M. (Parsons) Bent. Shirley had worked in her early years at M.W. Graves Ltd., in Berwick and also at Sawler Gardens in Somerset. She was a member of Mountain Mission United Pentecostal Church, Burlington, where she had taught Sunday School for many years and loved the children she taught. Surviving are husband of 53 years, Wayne D. Spicer; brothers, George (Jane) Bent, Berwick; Donald (Elsie) Bent, Waterville; Charles (Josephine) Bent, Cambridge; Allen Bent, Waterville; Mikel (Laura) Bent, Kentville; Leslie (Patches) Desrochers, Lawrencetown; Lloyd (Karla) Bent, Waterville; sisters, Barbara Jenner, Waterville; June (Gary) Kaizer, Welsford; Karen (Percy) Murphy, Kingston; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Alice Scotney; Edith Johnstone; Sheila Bent. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday evening in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-825-3448, from where the funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 15. Pastor Geoff Newell and Lic. Robert McDougall officiating, with interment in Berwick Cemetery.
