Ruby Pamela Wilson
1923-2018
A Life Well Lived!
Ruby Pamela Wilson died suddenly but peacefully on Tuesday evening,
August 7th 2018 at Thomas Hall in Fredericton surrounded by her
family. She was born in Montreal, QC on March 21st, 1923. It was
there that she met her husband, Arleigh, who was the love of her life,
best friend and life partner for over 60 years until his passing in
2012. Ruby moved to McAdam, NB in 1951 shortly after her wedding.
There she devoted herself to raising her family and being actively
involved in all aspects of the community. Her community service
included being a member of the Hospital Aide for MacLean Memorial
Hospital, the UCW and choir for St. Paul’s United Church,
volunteering at Wauklehegan Manor, helping establish Lakeland
Industries Sheltered Workshop and various other causes that sought to
improve the health and well being of the people of McAdam.
Due to declining physical health, Ruby moved to Thomas Hall at Shannex
in Fredericton, NB in 2016 where she received awesome care and support
from the staff and the residents. While moving there was a significant
adjustment for her, she continued on with the fortitude, grace and
strong faith she had always shown throughout her life. With her family
and friends close by, she enjoyed her role as mother, grandmother and
great grandmother. She touched many lives in a positive way and will
be missed by all who knew her. Fondly remembered and greatly
loved.
She is survived by three sons, Dwight Wilson (Patricia), New Maryland,
NB, Shamus Wilson (Wendy), Burnaby, BC and Grant Wilson (Mary),
McAdam, NB; three grandchildren, Colin Wilson (TuVan), Justin Wilson
(Meghan), both of Kingston, ON and Amy Wilson (Cody), Ottawa, ON; five
great grandchildren, Lana, Kira, Aidan, Caitlin and Rowan; a
sister-in-law, Clarice Melanson, Fredericton, NB; several nieces and
nephews and everyone who knew her.

was predeceased by her husband, W. Arleigh Wilson; a granddaughter,
Coleen Amy; sisters, Pearl and her husband Herbert Wilson, Jenny and
her husband Bruno Wolf and several older brothers and sisters; a
brother-in-law, Stanley Melanson.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to can make a donation to either
