Bob Hale
Bob (Robert) Benjamin Hale, of Markham, Ontario peacefully passed away, surrounded by his family at the age of 82. Bob will be dearly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 60 yrs, Marilyn (Bonwick) Hale, his 4 children, Cathy (Husband Steve), Brenda (Husband Bryan), Rick and Todd. Bob loved his Six Grandchildren Jeffery(Samantha), Jaclyn(Stewart), Shawna, Brent(Christianne), Shawn(Daniella) and Brianne(Richard). He was too cool to be a Grandpa so “Bobo” was his name to his much loved Great Grandchildren Davis, Peyton, Landon, Liam, Celin, Kian and Camden. “Bobo” will also be deeply missed by Jackie Bacon and Talia. Brother to Bette (Hale) Ursini and Al (Sylvia) Hale. Predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Vera (Mcphail) Hale of Toronto.
Bob enjoyed taking his grandchildren in a Winnebago to camp and fish. He enjoyed summers on Kempenfelt Bay boating, golfing and generally horsing around with the kids. He also loved time with his sons, travelling to Whistler, house-boating, golfing, a good cigar and always telling stories. Bob and Marilyn spent years hosting huge family and company gatherings at their home in Markham, he was a proud homeowner and happy to share the beauty of his paradise with everyone.
Bob had a larger than life personality, he loved golf although he spent most of his time searching for golf balls in the woods, he was always excited to announce that he had the game of golf all figured out with his latest swing technique. Bob loved to talk, he greeted everyone with his famous “G’Day G’Day”. He loved humour and always had some crazy joke to tell. Bob and Marilyn enjoyed many travels to Europe, Asia and Africa. He also enjoyed quiet time reading autobiographies and smoking cigars in Palm Beach, Florida.
Bob was an Electrician by Trade however, for more than 30 yrs coffee was his passion as the Founder of Mister Coffee & Services Inc. in 1980, he later developed his own coffee brewing system known as Bodecker Brewed which was one of the first coffee pod brewing systems with recyclable pods known as the “BOB” cup.
Bob was an entrepreneur that loved to tinker in his basement always coming up with the ‘greatest’ new invention.
There will be a private funeral service followed by
Celebration of Life on Tuesday August 14, 2018 3pm – 6pm
