Alvina Graf
1924-2018
Our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Aunty Graf passed away on July 19, 2018 at the age of 93.
Alvina was predeceased by her husband Albert, parents Alexander and Katherine, brothers Albert and Arnie, and sisters Dorothy and Betty. She is survived by one sister Elsie
She leaves to mourn her children Jim (Maureen), Myra (Glenn), Delsey (Catherine) grandchildren Katie (Jerald), Thomas (Jenn), Christopher (Kelly), Jonathan (Melissa) Jaime (Ricky), and great grandchildren Isabel, Emily, Raegen, Beckett and Brady.
She is also remembered by Pat and Don Guigueno, Kerry and Toby Punton, and Kim Guigueno, who treated her as a member of their family. She was lovingly known as Aunty Graf to Ashley, Noel, Brady, Rorey, Caleigh and Reese.
Mom worked outside the home to help support her family at a time when most women were homemakers. She held a variety of jobs over the years but her favourite was her last job at the Bay, in the fur coat department. She spoke often of how much she enjoyed this job and loved her coworkers.
Mom was always an energetic and independent lady. She loved nothing better than to get dressed up and go run her errands. Unfortunately, in the last few years, due to diminishing health, this became difficult for her.
We would like to offer our thanks and appreciation to Dr. Eng, Nurse Practitioner Joy and all the staff at Elemental Health Clinic. Thanks to Darcy and the staff at Irene Baron Eden Centre. We would also like to thank Dr. Van and all the nurses and health care aides on N1 North at Concordia Hospital, who took such wonderful care of our mother in her last days.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 10 am at Chapel Lawn 4000 Portage Ave.
A reception will be held after the service. A private family interment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, if you so wish, a donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Alvina Graf 2018.source
