NINA BUDGELL
1940 – 2018
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Nina Budgell. After her brave fight with cancer, she passed away peacefully with her family by her side in the palliative care room at the Carmelite House, July 21, 2018. She was 77.
She leaves to mourn with fond and cherished memories, her husband Raymond whom she shared her life with for 53 years, her daughters Janet Rumbolt (Morris), Debbie Budgell (Lee Perkins) and her son Howard Budgell (Brenda). She was the best nan in the world to her grandchildren Ashley Rumbolt and Howard Budgell Jr. Also mourning her loss is a large circle of family and friends.
Nina was born and raised in Grand Falls to Edgar and Emma Bragg. She was one of the Second Avenue Bragg clan and mom could rhyme them all off just as her dad always did: “Eg, Jake, Don, Ron, Eileen, Mildred, Mary, and Mom, Nina, Carrie, Johnny, and Lot and Dads the leader of the whole darned lot.”
Nina met and married the love of her life Raymond Budgell (from East Street, just around the corner), and together they raised 3 children. She loved her family and friends and catered to everyone who came to visit as if they were her own. If she didn’t feed you while you visited, she was sure to send you away with something. She loved a good cup of tea with who ever dropped by to visit, making fudge for all to enjoy, going to the store ‘twacking’ and a good night of Bingo with her Bingo buddies. Mom had many friends and acquaintances throughout her life and loved them all dearly! Family meant everything to Mom. She was Mom to us but she was Aunt Nina and Nanny Nina to so many more.
For all of us she did her best.
May God grant her eternal rest.
Until we meet again, Mom.
