Passed peacefully away at the palliative care unit of the L. A. Miller Centre, St. John’s, NL, on July 17, 2018, age 77 years, surrounded by his family.
Predeceased by his parents Clara and Cyril Small and sister Iona.
Leaving to mourn wife Jean, daughter Barbara (Ray), son Chris (Vicki), grandchildren Brittany (Brad) Aaron (Megan) and Benjamin (Amy), brothers Elmer (Gladys), Douglas (Phyllis), Roy (Doreen), as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Petten and staff at Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, Twillingate, NL, for their care at the beginning and Dr. Greenland at H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, St. John’s, NL, and staff of the palliative care unit.
In Lieu of flowers, donations in Melvin’s memory can be made to Children’s Wish Foundation.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 26 , 2018 at New World Island Funeral Home, Summerford, NL, with inurment to follow at the Moreton’s Harbour United Church Cemetery.
