Obituary of Harm Veldman
VELDMAN- Harm, passed away peacefully at the Welland County General Hospital in his 82nd year on July 13, 2018. Harm was born in the Netherlands. In 1955 he moved with his parents and brothers and sisters to Alberta. Two years later he came to Ontario. “If we live, we live for the Lord and if we die, we die for the Lord. So whether we live or die we belong to the Lord.” (Romans 14:8). Beloved husband of the late Adrianna (Vanden Boogaard). Loving father to his daughter Willemina Veldman, sons Andrew Veldman and Maria (Tamburri) and John Veldman and Norah (Stekelenburg). Loving Opa to Jessica Bonfoco, Adam Bonfoco and Samatha (McCauley), Kevin Veldman, Trevor John Veldman, Eric Veldman and step granddaughter Jennifer Stekelenburg. Harm has brothers, Bert Veldman and Sue, Albert Veldman and Dorothy and the late Tony Veldman and Evelyn. Sisters, the late Diny Vanderbeek and late brother-in- law Ben, sisters Anne Flikkema and Mike and late brother-in-law Dave Boorsma. Also, brother and sister-in-laws Adrian and Diny Vanden Boogaard, Maaika Langenberg and the late Tony, Mels and Anna Vanden Boorgaard and Kees Vanden Boogaard and the late Shirley. Harm is a member of the Grace Christian Reformed Church in Welland. He worked as a landscaper and also enjoyed working in his yard. Harm loved his neighbours and his special friends that came by. Special thanks to the staff at Welland County General Hospital for taking care of him. Also, a very special thank you to the staff and residents at Villa De Rose where Harm lived for the past 6 months. The Veldman family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Davidson Chapel on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Overholt Cemetery.
