It is with broken hearts that we say farewell to our sweet and gentle mother Marie Dolorosa (Kent) Evans, Torbay (formerly of Bell Island), who passed away on July 12, 2018 at the Health Sciences Centre after a battle which showed the depths of her strength, bravery and grace. She is predeceased by husband Charlie who was the love of her life, the one who always put a smile on her face and in her heart; parents Terrence and Elizabeth Kent, sister Teresita Doyle (brother-in-law Paul), brother Norbert (sister-in-law Mary) and deceased members of the Kent and Evans families. Leaving to mourn her loving and dedicated children: daughters Donna, Joanne and Lynn, son Mark (Denise); cherished grandchildren Danika and Michael; very special nieces Mary Beth and Paulette Doyle; many relatives in the Kent and Evans families and a large circle of friends. Special thank you to Drs Joanne MacIntyre and Karen Lake who cared for mom so kindly and gently in the last five years. We will always appreciate how you treated mom with compassion and respect. We know she trusted and respected you in return. Mom had incredibly strong faith which gives us comfort at this extremely sad time. She was a long time member of the Holy Trinity Torbay Catholic Women’s League and the Holy Trinity church choir. Mom was the sweetest, kindest and most selfless person we knew, she always put the wellbeing of others ahead of herself. She was a fantastic cook and her homemade cookies were in demand at every family, church and community function, and by her neighbours with whom she shared so often and willingly. She was the best mother we could have ever hoped for and we are forever grateful for the wisdom, joy and unconditional love she provided. We will miss you every minute mom but know you are safe and happy reunited with your Charlie. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation on Saturday 6:00-9:00pm and Sunday 2:00-4:00pm, 6:00-9:00pm. Funeral mass to take place on Monday July 16, 2018 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Church Torbay. Cremation to follow. No flowers by request. Donations in her memory can be made to the Dr. Jack Hand Legacy Foundation
