It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Robert Paul Damiano on July 7th, 2018. He was on a much-loved fishing trip with good friends and had just reeled in a fish. Loving father of Jennifer (Bert), Natalie, and Katrina (Bryan), and fun-loving grandpa to Skylar, Summer and Russie. Predeceased by his wife Christine of 25 years. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews as well as his fishing and golf buddies. Fondly remembered by his previous wife Carole, her children Allen and Lisa and their children Jessica, Coleman, Hunter and Zoe. Predeceased by his parents Lucy and Anthony Damiano, and his six siblings; Joan, Carmel, Carl, Tony, Lenny and Ronny. Bob will be sadly missed by his cat “Ruffy”. Also known as Bob, Bobby and BobbyD, he was passionate about gardening, food, cooking, woodworking, golfing and fishing, and most of all spending time with family and friends. Many will fondly remember helping build Bob’s log cottage, and spending time there with the Damianos. He will be remembered for crafting woodworking gifts for Christmas and birthdays. Bob always liked to joke around, laugh and tease. He got more done in a morning than most of us did all day! Having lived his life to the fullest, he continues to be an inspiration to all of us. Family and friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home-Kanata Chapel, 580 Eagleson Road, Kanata, ON K2M 1H4 613-591-6580 on Thursday, July 12th, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment at Capital Memorial Gardens. For those wishing, In Memoriam donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or the Ottawa Humane Society are greatly appreciated.
