Donald White
DONALD ERNEST WHITE – passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 8th ,2018 in his 81st year at the MacKenzie Richmond Hill Hospital.
Don was born in Toronto on December 11, 1937 to the late Gertrude (Glenney) and Harold White. Caring and Affectionate husband to the late Diane White of Southampton, Ontario. Loving and proud father to Jamie White (Jeanette) of Caledon East, Shelley MacDonald (Ross) of Port Elgin, Susan Balogh (Neil) of Stouffville and step-father to Cory Walton of Southampton. Devoted and Adoring Grandpa to Matthew (Judy), Alex (Tania), AJ (Terri-Lynn), Katie (Mark), Jessica (Liam), Rachel, Joshua, Megan, Nicole (Sean) and Jake (Pricilla). Survived and Loved by his partner, Norma Salivan, with who he lived for the past few years in Ballantrea, Ontario.
Before Don retired in 1994, he had an impressive career with Ontario Hydro as a Community Relations Manager. He was well respected by his peers and the community as a whole. Don also played a very active role with the Rotary Club in Southampton and in Rotunda West, Florida where he spent his winters for the last 22 years. He was an avid golfer and his home in Florida was his happy place for many years. Don was a very generous and caring man who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Special thanks to his Palliative Care Doctor, Dr. Berger, his Oncologist, Dr.Trinkaus and the wonderful and kind staff of the Markham Stouffville Hospital and MacKenzie Hospital.
Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society wonder be appreciated by the family.
A celebration of Don’s life to take place at the Southampton Walker House on Friday, July 27th from 1 pm to 4 pm.
