Ellen Bland
1959-2018
It’s with deep sadness that we announce the sudden
passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Ellen Louise
Bland, of New Glasgow, on July 1, 2018 at the Aberdeen
Hospital.
Born
in New Glasgow, NS on October 7, 1959, she was the daughter of the
late Elwood Russell and Barbara Florence (Barker)
Mosher.
Ellen
worked with Stats Canada in Halifax until she made the choice to stay
at home and raise her daughters. She was actively
involved in their lives and with her community. She
was a volunteer with the 219 RCACC for over 10 years and served on the
Board of Directors for LORDA for several years. She was a former
member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the New Glasgow Fire
Dept.
Ellen’s
most recent pride and joy were her grandchildren, Keegan and
Ada. She loved spending time with them and cheered on every
accomplishment they made.
Ellen
is survived by husband, Ross; daughters: Amy (Arthur) Tate of New
Glasgow; Laura (Nelson) Worth of Trenton; grandson, Keegan Tate;
granddaughter, Ada Worth; brother, Russell (Sandra) Mosher of Hebbs
Cross; brother-in-law, David (Carol) Bland of Moncton; and several
nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by
her two fur babies, Brandy and Bentley.
Ellen
was predeceased by her parents, mother-in-law, Ada, father-in-law,
Bill, and sister, Barbie Young.
Visitation
will take place 2-4 and 7-9 pm Wednesday, in R.H. Porter Funeral Home,
55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow, from where the funeral will take place at
11 am Thursday, in the Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson and Rev.
Falen McNulty officiating. Burial will take place
in Abercrombie Cemetery.
