Rita Schaefer (Spitzig)
Rita Marguerite Schaefer, of Walkerton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Brucelea Haven. She was 86. Mother to Jim (Shelley) of Allenford, John of Port Elgin, Bill (Sue) of Hanover, Doug (Kim) of Walkerton, and Ron (Julia Dewes) of Port Elgin. Rita was the proud grandma of Derek (Devin Fisher) Little, Andrea (Ian McHaig) Little, Shaun (Catherine) Schaefer, Natasha (Pat) Assinck, Katie (Matthew) Barker, Devin Schaefer, Jenna (Matt) Tonkin, Scott (Karley Gilbert) Schaefer, Julia (Grant Reinhart) Schaefer and great-grandma to 7. She will be missed by her sisters Joan (Alf) Ernewein, Agnes (Mike) Hallahan, Mary (John) Ernewein, Pauline (Steve) Cuneo and sister-in-law Linda Spitzig. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and the Schaefer Family.
Rita is predeceased by her husband Charlie Schaefer, daughter Sharon (Jim) Little, parents Jack and Gertrude Spitzig, siblings Fran (Peter) Meinstra, Bernard Spitzig, Annabelle (Francis) Wilhelm, Barb Ruetz, and Pat Spitzig.
Friends are invited to a casual visitation on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Cameron Funeral Home, Walkerton. C.W.L. prayers at 2:00, Parish Prayers at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church, Walkerton. Fr. Les Szczygiel officiating.
Internment at Calvery Cemetery, Walkerton
