Theresa Guenette (née Deforge)
GUENETTE, Theresa (née Deforge) – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother on June 18th, 2018 at the St. Joseph’s General Hospital, Elliot Lake, ON. She was in her 86th year. Devoted wife of Raymond Guenette (predeceased 2017), beloved mother of baby Carmen Marie (predeceased), Richard (Louise) of Hanmer, Carmen Bondy (Ken) of Elliot Lake, Conrad of Copper Cliff and Gisele Whorley (Mike) of Brockville. Loving grandmother of Chris Brouse, Sean Brouse, Alex Guenette, Janeen Guenette, Ryan Guenette (predeceased) and David Guenette. Dear sister of Leonard “Bob” of Ottawa. Predeceased by brothers Ronald and David and sister Lillian Halverson. Theresa was born in Falconbridge on December 3rd, 1932 to Louis and Desneiges (Moreau) Deforge. Theresa was a sweet and gentle homemaker, devoted to her family, kind, courageous and encouraging. She was an exceptional cook, always eager to feed anyone who graced her door. Theresa enjoyed to challenge crossword puzzles. She believed that words matter. Our family would like to thank Dr. Tim deBortoli for the excellent care provided to our mother since her move to Elliot Lake in 2007 and Dr. Dave Matheson for his compassion and respect in the emergency room. Theresa was so appreciative of all the care she received from her providers at the hospital and at Hillside Park Retirement Home. We wish to extend a special thank you to Joanne Blanchette RN for her wonderful nursing care and attention to our mother’s needs during her final days. Cremation and inurnment in the Woodlands Cemetery, Elliot Lake. As per Theresa’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. If you wish to make a contribution in her memory, donations to the St. Joseph’s General Hospital would be appreciated.
