Samuel James Kettle
June 18, 1934 – June 17, 2018
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Samuel James Kettle announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Sunday, June 17th, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Born in Port aux Basques, Samuel was the son of the late Arthur and Alice Kettle (nee Buttery). He was also predeceased by his step-sister Catherine (Llewellyn) Pearce; step-brother Walter Kettle; sister Sadie (Roy) Skeard and brothers-in-law Russel Lomond, Raymond Jeans, Ivan Walters.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his sisters Pearl Lomond, Nina Jeans (Merrill Durnford), Caraline Walters (Ira Allen); sister-in-law Jane Kettle; aunt Hazel Kettle all of Port aux Basques, NL plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm continuing on Wednesday, June 20th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. in Port aux Basques, NL. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 21st at 2 pm from St. Paul’s Anglican Church officiated by Rev. Harold Harvey with interment to follow at St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, TCH, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Samuel’s memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
