Marcella Petrone nee McCart, R.N. of Kelowna, B.C., formerly of Thunder Bay Ontario, passed away peacefully June 4, 2018 at the age of 90.
Marcella will be lovingly remembered by her children Ann (Ron), Mike (Wendy), Ruth (Lawrence), Lewis (Helen), Tim (Paola) 8 grandchildren and their spouses, 9 great grandchildren, brothers Dermot and Laurie (Irene), sister-in-law(s) Rita, Mary and brother-in-law Walter, as well as many nieces and nephews. Marcella graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1950 and spent over 30 years nursing at the Port Arthur Clinic and St. Joseph’s hospital as an RN priding herself on her care for others. She enjoyed her retirement spending quality time at her camp at Surprise Lake and winters at her home in Lake Worth Florida. The last ten years she lived in Kelowna to be closer to her family. Marcella aka “Irish” will be remembered for her love of sports and chicken wings. There wasn’t a hockey or football game that you couldn’t remember Marcella cheering for her favourite team and telling the refs where to go. A true Minnesota Vikings fan to the end.
The Leprechaun has finally reached her pot of gold. The family would like to thank the amazing nursing staff at Glenmore Lodge for the excellent care she received.
Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date in Thunder Bay.
