Mary Bennett (Searson)
Mary Bridget Bennett (Searson, Donohue) died peacefully in her sleep, going home to be with our Lord, in the early hours of June 9, 2018.
Throughout her illness Mary never despaired. Her gracious spirit, compassion for others and her sense of humour shone through all her days, as did her winning smile. She was an amazing woman, with a strong work ethic and she took enormous pride in her family. Mom loved music, whether it was dancing, singing along or playing the piano. She entertained at more than a few parties over the years. Supples Landing, where she spent her last years, benefited from many a performance with Mom on the ivories. Mom also enjoyed a game of golf, a good book to settle into and any form of cards, from euchre to bridge. She was a joy to be around and always chose to see the bright side of life. Her presence will be missed by all those who knew her and she definitely left the world a better place.
Mary was predeceased by her first husband Alan Donohue in 1979 and six of her seven siblings; Carmel Delaney, Ellard Searson, Ambrose Searson, Pat Searson, Teresa Mitton, Danny Searson. She was also predeceased by her grandson Michael Bennett.
Mary is survived by her husband Jim Bennett, her five children; Dawn Donohue (Jim), Kerry Donohue (Nanci), Alanna Donohue (late Chris), Melanie Donohue (Rob), Cara Cioffi (Carl) and her five step children Kathy O’Brien (Barry), Michael Bennett (Ann Lalonde), David Bennett (Beverly Hill), Steve Bennett (Kathy) and Rick Bennett (Tara Leblanc) and her sister Helene MacDonald. Mary also leaves behind her grandchildren; Devon and Shellbee, Christina, Emily, and Sam, Luca, Erin (Christopher), Natalie (Jason)and Amy, Gregory and Julia, Laura and Craig, Lindsey (Jason), Phillip (Josie) and Haleigh & Amanda and Shawn. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
