Green, Lois (nee Cole)
Passed peacefully at Fairhaven in her 86th year on Friday, June 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She’ll be welcomed in heaven with open arms by her beloved husband Bob (d. 1979). Devoted and loving mother of Jim (Alice) Green, Sandra (Kirk) Challenger, Linda (Bryon) Leahy. Special Nanna to Brad, Alyssa, Leah (Tal), Marisa, Justin (Daniela), Jenna (Justin), Sara (Luke) and Robert. Survived by her loving siblings Shirley Graham (d. Jim), Bev Boomhour (d. Vernon), Roger (Marilyn) Cole. Predeceased by Lorraine Knapp (d. Sam), Helen Cole and George Cole. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Lois devoted her life to loving and nurturing her entire family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and she took great interest in their lives and loved them unconditionally. She was an amazing mother and Nanna, full of love, compassion, patience and a wealth of knowledge. She grew up in Deseronto, ON graduating in 1954 from Kingston General Hospital becoming a Registered Nurse and working at both Peterborough Civic Hospital and Extendicare. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Ellen Post, Nightingale Nursing & Fairhaven staff for their special care and kindness. A private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
