Gibson, Florence Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Franklin)
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Betty on Friday June 1, 2018 at the Stayner Care Centre in her 88th year. Betty of Stayner, beloved wife of the late Donald Gibson. Left with memories to treasure are Peggy (Greg Conn), Patricia (Larry Bennett), Betty June (Wayne Danylchuk), Donna (John Aarden) and Bill Gibson (Susette Sampson). Cherished grandmother of Cheryl (Dave), Christy (Ryan), Carolyn (Jon), Stephanie, Curtis (Christel), Paige (Ryan), Scott, Connie (Jeff), Steven, Adam (Cadence), Cassandra (Wes) and Ashley (Jeff) and proud great grandmother of 23. Betty was predeceased by her brothers James and Robert Franklin and will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Monica. Special thanks to the staff of the Stayner care Centre for their support and compassionate care. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Sunday June 3, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday June 4, 2018 at the Jubilee Presbyterian Church, 7320 Highway 26, Stayner at 1 o’clock. Interment Stayner Union Cemetery. Reception to follow. If desired, memoriam donations to Sick Kids Foundation, Jubilee Presbyterian Church or 4-H Ontario Foundation would be appreciated by Betty’s family.
