Jose Caganap Aquino
Jose Caganap Aquino, age 72, passed away peacefully with family by his side on May 25, 2018 at 2:18am. Born on July 29, 1945 in Kawit, Cavite, Philippines, he was the son of the late Generoso Aquino Sr. and Felicitas Caganap Aquino.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 35 years, Divina Aquino and his two daughters, Amanda Pinpin (husband Chris) and Josie Aquino (fiancée Jimmy). He is also survived by his siblings, Andy Aquino of Toronto, Rosario Garcia and Ofelia Octavo of Philippines. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and friends who will deeply miss him.
Jose also known as Joe to many, immigrated to Canada in 1984 from the Philippines. He worked at Health Science Center in Housekeeping for 26 years until he retired in 2011. Besides just spending quality time with his family, his favorite hobby was fishing. His favorite spots included Selkirk and Pine Falls and taught many of his nieces and nephews how to fish. He was also a great cook and known for his hearty misua and famous Kare Kare.
Viewing will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home located at 455 Lagimodiere Blvd, Winnipeg, MB on Friday, June 1st, 2018 between the hours of 7pm until midnight. His Funeral service will be held the following day on Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 at St. Gerard Parish located at 45 Foster Street, Winnipeg, MB at 2:30pm.
A reception will be hosted immediately after the funeral service at Valley Gardens Community Center located at 218 Antrim Road, Winnipeg, MB.
His private cremation service will follow on Monday, June 4th at 11:00 am. Please join the family in a moment of silence and prayer during this time.
