Obituary of Irene D’Andrea
D’ANDREA, IRENE (nee CONCESSI)
Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 26, 2018 at the Port Colborne Hospital in her 84th year. Beloved wife of Gerry for 60 years, and loving mother to Catherine, John (Adriana), Mark (Mary) and David (Monica). Devoted gramma of Daphne and Amanda. Survived by her brother Frank Concessi and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Anna Concessi. Irene was born in Villa Santa Lucia, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1948. She lived in Timmins and Kirkland Lake before moving to Port Colborne in 1960. Irene worked for many years at Shoppers Drug Mart in Port Colborne and is fondly remembered many friends and neighbours.
The family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Monday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Vigil will be held at the funeral home on Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at St. Therese of Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 379 Fares Street, Port Colborne, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Michael Andrysiak officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery. If so desired, donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the One Foundation for Palliative Care at the Port Colborne Hospital.
