Clare was born in Bapaume, Saskatchewan on April 1, 1933 and grew up in nearby Chitek Lake. He passed away peacefully on May 14, 2018 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s. He will be dearly missed by his loving family; his wife of 58 years, Luella; his daughter Yvonne (Tony) and son Neil (Lorraine); and grandchildren Valerie, Amber, Robert, Elizabeth and Hannah.
Clare enjoyed his work, wearing many hats as an electrician and oil burner mechanic. Dad and Mom loved travelling, especially to Hawaii and Mexico and their camping trips on the island and to Alberta to visit family.
Family was very important to Clare and he was the most gentle, kind-hearted and generous husband, dad and grandpa who will forever live in our hearts.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Oak Bay Lodge for their kindness and caring for Dad this past year.
A Memorial Service will be held at McCall’s, 4665 Falaise Dr., Victoria, BC on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 10:30 am. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
