Yvonne SCHMID (nee Bérubé), age 84, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket. She had been in the hospital for three weeks battling an infection, with complications.
Yvonne was born in Saint Damase, a small village in northern Quebec. She was the daughter of Nazaire Bérubé and Alice Talon. She came from a large family and always cherished keeping in contact with all her brothers and sisters.
She married Leopold Schmid in 1955 and her adventure began, living in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Acapulco, Paris and Germany. They eventually settled into their dream home in Newmarket, a few years before retirement. They most enjoyed family time and visits with their grandson, Marshall.
Yvonne was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Leo. She is survived by three of her sisters (Germaine, Janine and Solange), her daughter, Carmen, and her grandson, Marshall.
There will be a private graveside service for immediate family members at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please light a candle and offer a prayer. May she rest in peace!
